Windows 8 Is Proof of the Ongoing Tension Within Microsoft, Says Former Employee

Windows 8 is considered one of the reasons why Steve Ballmer was ousted from Microsoft, as the poor uptake of the modern operating system has really disappointed the company’s board.

James Grimmelmann, a former Microsoft developer, told Washington Post that the Redmond-based vendor has actually created an unattractive mix of older and newer platforms, thus providing users with a rather confusing OS that’s yet to excite.

This is just the living proof that the internal tension continues to affect Microsof t’s business, Grimmelmann, who left Microsoft in 2011, explained.

“By not removing the old interface they guaranteed the failure of the new one,” he explained.

Microsoft, on the other hand, continues to bet big on the Metro UI, so Windows 8.1 comes to improve it with several customization options and new settings supposed to make everything a lot easier for beginners.
