Marion Cotillard to Get Murderous with Michael Fassbender in Macbeth
As rumored earlier this year, Michael Fassbender is attached to star in a film adaptation of William Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” play. Deadline reports that he’s just gotten his leading lady in Marion Cotillard.
Natalie Portman was previously rumored to be in negotiations for the part.
“Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard has boarded See-Saw Films’ Macbeth, to be directed by Snowtown‘s Justin Kurzel,” the movie-oriented publication says.
“King’s Speech and Shame producers Iain Canning and Emile Sherman are producing. Pre-production is slated for the end of the year with principal photography to kick off in the UK in January 2014. S tudiocanal is financing the majority of the picture with Film4 and will handle international sales,” adds the report.
Though “Macbeth” is confirmed for a release in the UK, Germany and France, it is yet to get a release date, even a tentative one.
Even so, I find myself extremely hyped about the project, now more than before because of Cotillard’s casting. How about you?
